“If your going to hit someone, you want to hurt them and cause them as much damage as possible otherwise what’s the point in hitting them in the first place” – Cathy Brown

Boxers are generally acknowledged to be the fittest athletes of all, due to the demanding regime required in order to compete over 10 or 12 rounds of intense competition. Even for the recreational boxer, who trains on a slightly less ambitious level, unprecedented fitness is achieved.  No other sport demands the level of physical or mental fitness than boxing. When you make a fist, something primal happens – a return to your roots that sets the stage for a deeper, more satisfying kind of fitness that will also make you more effective in your professional life.

Cathy has been teaching kick boxing since 1998 and boxing since 2000, with her vast experience competing and teaching within each sport, you can be confident that you are being taught by one of the best boxing and kick boxing coaches in the World.  She runs group classes and one to one tuition to teach you variations of punches or kicks and defence movements, teach you how to execute the optimum amount of power within your punches and use circuit based training to get you the fittest you have ever been in your life to become stronger and more confident.  She uses bag work, pad work and sparing to allow you to fully learn and understand the principles of combat. Boxing and kick boxing training is the best way for you to have a stronger body and gain confidence and self esteem, as not only are you getting faster, leaner, stronger you are learning how to defend yourself.

It is a complete workout for your cardiovascular and endurance systems as well as training upper body, lower body and core strength. Calorie expenditure and fat burning are very elevated during the workouts as it is such a high intensity workout utilizing large muscle groups, and because you are constantly moving your heart rate is elevated immensely.

It does not tend to add muscle bulk but rather tones and defines muscle because it involves such high repetition. It also improves your co ordination and balance. All these factors you take back into your everyday life and you become more confident, strong body equals strong mind. Mixed with a good strength and conditioning program and good diet, you will become a warrior in the ring and out the ring.

Boxing is a workout that can accommodate for all levels of strength and fitness and can be enjoyed by beginner to advanced participants.

“You need to keep your punches sharp, the more whip you have in your shots, the more their brain will whip against the inside of their skull, simulating a car crash, therefore knocking them out” - Cathy Brown
