Boxing Champion Cathy Brown hosts Fundraising Cocktail Reception for national domestic violence charity Refuge1 May, 2012
Cathy Brown, former world boxing champion and lifestyle coach to the stars, will host a cocktail reception event for REFUGE, national domestic violence charity. She will also be joined by Michael Barrymore making a speech on his experience about domestic violence.
There will be a cocktail reception and canapés with entertainment by Barrett Waugh and DJ Shane McPherson. Cathy, who has been affected by domestic violence in her past, wants to give back to help other people in a similar situation and spread awareness of this amazing charity. Police receive a domestic violence related call every 60 seconds and two women are killed each week by a current or former partner, so Cathy would like to talk about the extent and severity of this problem that normally gets brushed under the carpet.
The Cathy Brown Cocktail Reception in aid of REFUGE will take place at the new trendy Central and Co restaurant on Great Marlborough Street, London, W1 on Wednesday 16th May at 630pm onwards. Just a few minutes from Oxford Street tube station.
A host of VIPs are expected including Colin Jackson, Emma Noble, Michael Barrymore, David Haye, Rupert Everett, Mica Paris, Anna Winslet, Beverley Knight and many more on the evening.
STRICTLY RSVP ONLY: firstname.lastname@example.org
REFUGE is the largest specialist provider of life saving and life changing domestic violence services – the charity provides a range of services from 24 hour help lines to refuges across the country to support thousands of women and children every year. Yet in these testing and austere financial times the charity is struggling to raise funds and Cathy hopes that the cocktail reception will raise much needed funds and awareness.
